Day 3: Building relationships (and more soccer)
Today had a main focus on building relationships and friendships with many of the kids at the school.
The gym class was predictably more soccer, but an amazing time to bond and connect with many of the Honduran kids. We played various mixtures of games, some with “gringos” versus “catrachos” and others with mixed teams. We gave better competition today than yesterday.
Honduran kids love to dance and laugh at American dances. We played a solid’s day of soccer and were quite sore afterwards. We came home to delicious empanadas.
We finished out our day by practicing a skit to present to the students in the morning. Each practice run came with quite a few laughs and required a few reruns. The students also requested we sing a song, so we did our best to put together a song that will work with our vocal capabilities.
